The Hyundai R35Z-9A is a 3.5 tonne class zero tail swing compact excavator that gives UK contractors and hirers a lower-cost alternative to the equivalent Kubota, Takeuchi and JCB machines in the same size band. It uses a Yanmar diesel engine rather than an in-house Hyundai power unit at this size, reflecting how compact excavators across brands often share third-party engines and hydraulics. Hyundai's UK dealer coverage for this class is thinner than the market leaders, spread across several regional appointed dealers.
