What identification do I need to hire tools?
Edwards Plant & Tool Hire will typically require a valid photo ID (driving licence or passport) and proof of address. A deposit - either cash or on card - is usually held during the hire period.
Are tools delivered or do I collect?
Edwards Plant & Tool Hire offers both collection from their depot and delivery to site for larger items. Smaller tools are generally collect-only. Contact them to confirm availability and any delivery charges.
What happens if a hired tool breaks down during use?
If a tool develops a fault through normal use, Edwards Plant & Tool Hire will replace it as quickly as possible at no extra charge. Report any issues immediately - do not attempt to repair hired equipment yourself.
What licence do I need to drive a specialist vehicle?
Licence requirements depend on the vehicle's weight. Vehicles up to 3,500 kg (3.5 tonnes) gross vehicle weight can be driven on a standard category B licence. Vehicles between 3.5-7.5 tonnes require a C1 licence. For anything heavier, a full HGV (category C or CE) licence is required. Edwards Plant & Tool Hire will advise on licence requirements when you enquire.
Is insurance included in the hire price?
Specialist vehicles hired from Edwards Plant & Tool Hire include third-party insurance as standard. Comprehensive insurance - covering the vehicle itself - is usually an optional extra. Confirm coverage details before hire.
