What do I need to hire a trailer?
To hire a trailer from Hireco Park, you will need a valid UK driving licence, proof of address, and in most cases a credit or debit card for the security deposit. Some companies also require proof of insurance.
Do I need special insurance to tow a hired trailer?
Most UK car insurance policies include third-party cover for a towed trailer, but not all cover the trailer itself for damage or theft. It is worth checking your policy before hiring - the hire company can often offer additional cover for peace of mind.
What size trailer do I need?
Hireco Park stock a range of trailer sizes. As a guide: a 6x4 ft trailer suits garden waste and light loads; 8x5 ft covers most DIY jobs; 10x6 ft and above is suited to plant machinery and vehicles. Contact Hireco Park to confirm availability and dimensions.
Can I hire a trailer for just one day?
Yes - Hireco Park offers daily hire. Weekend (Friday to Monday) and weekly rates are also available and often more economical if you need longer. Check with Hireco Park directly for current pricing.
What licence do I need to drive a specialist vehicle?
Licence requirements depend on the vehicle's weight. Vehicles up to 3,500 kg (3.5 tonnes) gross vehicle weight can be driven on a standard category B licence. Vehicles between 3.5-7.5 tonnes require a C1 licence. For anything heavier, a full HGV (category C or CE) licence is required. Hireco Park will advise on licence requirements when you enquire.
