Most caravan storage in the UK costs between £35 and £70 a month. Half of the 16 sites we checked charge about £50 a month or less. Prices run from roughly £29 a month at the cheapest rural site to £150 (VAT included) at a site near Aldershot.
These are not estimates. Each figure below is the price the storage site shows on its own website, checked on 27 September 2026. Where a site quotes a weekly rate, we have converted it to a monthly figure (weekly price x 52 / 12) so you can compare like with like.

Why prices vary so much
Location. The cheapest sites in our list are rural ones in Lincolnshire, Shropshire and on the Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire border. The dearest are around London and the M3 corridor, where land costs more. Stashbee, a London marketplace for spare driveways and yards, charges £120.
Length of your outfit. Some sites charge one rate for everything. Others price by length. E C Caravan Storage in Basingstoke lists separate spaces for outfits up to 7.3m and up to 7.5m. A large motorhome can cost more than a twin-axle tourer at the same site.
Covered or open. Open hardstanding is the norm and the cheapest option. Covered or indoor storage costs more because it protects against algae, UV fading and storm damage.
Security level. Many sites are accredited by CaSSOA, the Caravan Storage Site Owners' Association. Caravan Guard, a specialist insurer, describes the four levels like this: Bronze is the entry level, needing perimeter protection and lockable gates; Silver adds things like CCTV and monitored entry; Gold and Platinum are the top two awards. Caravan Guard notes that more than half of CaSSOA members hold Gold, and that some insurers give a discount for caravans kept on CaSSOA sites (Caravan Guard).
Access hours. A site you can reach 24 hours a day usually costs more than one with set opening times. We explain why in Storage access hours: why they vary so much.
Is it cheaper to keep it at home?
It can be, if you have the space, your deeds or tenancy allow it, and your insurer accepts it. The Caravan and Motorhome Club advises that a back garden is better than a front drive, because a caravan that is out of sight is less likely to be targeted (Caravan and Motorhome Club).
Check two things before you decide:
- Your insurance. Some policies charge more, or need extra security, when the caravan is kept at home. Get a quote for both options. The saving on a CaSSOA site can cancel out part of the storage fee.
- Security devices. The Club recommends good-quality wheel locks and hitch locks tested to a recognised standard such as Sold Secure Gold (or Diamond for wheel locks), fitted whenever the caravan is parked up, including in storage.
How to choose a site
- Ask for the price per month for your outfit's length, and whether VAT is included.
- Ask what the CaSSOA level is, then tell your insurer.
- Check the access hours against when you actually tow out.
- Ask whether there is power for a battery charger or dehumidifier over winter.
- Visit before you sign up. Look at the gate, the fencing and how the spaces are laid out.
